Four color screenprint on yellow paper
This series uses hand-pulled screenprinting to explore color through photographs and collected ephemera from travels throughout Florida. Rather than using a traditional CMYK process of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black ink on white paper, the yellow ink is replaced by colored paper. The images are printed with a white underbase, followed by cyan, magenta, and black. Allowing the paper itself to function as part of the color process alters the appearance of the images and produces unexpected color combinations. Drawn from travel and encounters with transient locations, the photographs and ephemera also serve as records of places that are experienced briefly and carried elsewhere.
Each print in this open edition is individually produced and may contain slight variations in color, registration, alignment, and ink coverage. These differences are a natural part of the printmaking process and contribute to the unique character of each print. Images shown are representative of the edition and may vary slightly from the print you receive.
